Density of POM (Polyoxymethylene)

The density (specific gravity) of POM resin is an industry-recognized standard physical parameter. Commonly known as acetal, it is a highly crystalline engineering plastic with stable base density values tested in accordance with international standards such as ASTM D792 and ISO 1183.

Density varies slightly across different grades and modified types of POM, with all values being industry-recognized measured data:

Homopolymer POM: 1.41~1.43 g/cm3, typical value 1.42 g/cm3

Copolymer POM: 1.40~1.42 g/cm3, typical value 1.41 g/cm3

Glass fiber-reinforced POM (10%~30% glass fiber): 1.50~1.70 g/cm3, with higher glass fiber content leading to greater density

Flame-retardant POM: 1.42~1.55 g/cm3, with halogen-free flame-retardant systems showing smaller density increases than halogenated systems

Wear-resistant modified POM: 1.41~1.45 g/cm3, with minor density fluctuations due to lubricant addition

This density parameter is a core reference for the design of precision structural parts such as gears, bearings, and clips. Its high crystallinity ensures stable density, making it widely used in products requiring high dimensional accuracy, and density calculation is also key for product weight and assembly accuracy control.
